About

1001 Children’s Books is a children’s book blog from Switzerland and a curated collection of timeless children’s books that show children the world as it is: fantastically beautiful, terrible, funny and crazy.

In today’s endless supply, it is sometimes difficult to find particularly beautiful and especially loving children’s books.

We present lost classics, brave new releases and magical bestsellers from all over the world.

1001 Children’s Books is a compilation of children’s and young adult literature that touches us and that we admire.

The craftsmanship of the authors and illustrators is impressive and in some cases simply out of this world.

The love for children that speaks through each of these books should be a benchmark for all adults.

Children are wonderful and children are especially worth protecting. Books open up new worlds for them. Not all books meet children with the complexity and honesty they deserve. The books in this collection, we believe, do. They take children seriously. They show children the world as it is. Colourful. Dark. Brightly coloured. But they never forget that they are talking to children.

We are happy to receive book tips and suggestions. Any language, any age is welcome.
